Archivel Farma is supporting a year more the activities organized in Barcelona around the World TB Day, which the United Nations instituted on March 24 (commemorating the date on which Dr. Robert Kock announced the discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis).
The Tuberculosis Investigation Unit of Barcelona (UITB) is organizing an event that will take place tomorrow March 22, in the Palau Macaya, from 10am to 3pm. Along with Archivel, the initiative is supporte by the Agència de Salut Pública de Barcelona, the sociosanitary center Serveis Clínics, the Experimental Tuberculosis Unit of the Institute of Research Germans Trias i Pujol (IGTP), the UITB Foundation and the Obra Social la Caixa.
The event program includes the presentation of four recent doctoral theses related to the treatment and the investigation on tuberculosis and a round table with the title Important anniversaries and how to advance in the diagnosis, monitoring and prevention of the TB. In the table will intervene Dr. Pere-Joan Cardona, scientific advisor of Archivel, who will talk about the last 20 years of work of the Experimental Tuberculosis Unit of the IGTP and, more specifically, about the collaboration with Archivel Farma in the investigation of the RUTI® vaccine.
